About Acupuncture
For over 3,000 years Acupuncture has been used to effectively treat and prevent all types of physical/emotional diseases. It is one of the safest and most comprehensive systems of medicine in the world today. The system focuses on restoring and strengthening a flow of life energy at a deep core level. It powerfully encourages healing of the body, mind and emotions and supports an elevation of consciousness and awakening of the spirit. The medicine is used primarily by ¼ of the population of the world.
Acupuncture is a safe, relative painless and effective treatment that incorporates the use of very fine, disposable, sterile needles that are inserted into specific points on pathways called meridians that flow throughout the body. Acupuncture works on regulating the flow of energy (called qi) through these meridians. It can provide a feeling of deep relaxation while it restores balance to the body.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a system of healing that originated about 3,000 years ago. Using acupuncture, herbal medicine, qi-gong, dietary and lifestyle guidance, TCM has great success in returning the body to a state of balance, alleviating symptoms of disease and restoring health. TCM is unique in its approach because it seeks to treat the cause of disease, not merely the symptoms.
Five-Element Acupuncture
Classical Five-Element Acupuncture recognizes that we are more than just our bodies. When we are ill it is not only the body that is affected but also the mind and spirit. It is more often that illnesses start at the spirit level and then lodge into the body.
Five Element Acupuncture is unique because it looks for the root cause of disease imbalance. It is not the illness that is treated, but the person who has the illness. Therefore, treatments are designed according to your unique needs as individual patients. Working in harmony with the laws of nature, the five-element acupuncturist stimulates the bodies own natural healing response and brings about balance at a deep level.
Classical five-element acupuncture is also preventative, not just curative. Health is more than just the absence of disease; it is the state of well being. Acupuncture tune-ups can help you maintain this state of well-being.
